Meeting family

Koudjo’s brother Philippes lives next door to our house with his wife and four kids ranging ages 3-13 (very similar!). The first meeting of the cousins went much better than I had anticipated. Yes, there was some awkwardness for a little while but after an hour or so, the three younger ones of both families were off playing together even though they can’t say anything to each other. Our kids have already learned new things from their cousins, such as how to scale a papaya tree! Koudjo had only told two of us brothers that we were coming back so this weekend we had the pleasure of surprising his mom and three sisters. And how very overjoyed they all were at seeing us, especially the kids! It was impossible not to feel loved by their genuine welcome. They were also excited to hear that we weren’t just here in Togo for a visit.
